So excited to host an extra special version of the wonderful Outspoken next month as part of Culture Night!
Wexford’s monthly open-mic Outspoken will host a spoken-word competition on Culture Night for performers of all ages and nationalities inspired by the theme ‘áit dúchais’ or ‘homeplace’. The project actively inspires participants to embrace their culture and customs; whether you are from outside of Wexford or outside of Ireland.
This event gives a platform to performers of all backgrounds to be recognised and for audience members to be exposed to new traditions. A spoken-word competition for writers and poets of all ages and ethnicities to perform a piece based in or written about their homeplace.
Wearing county colours and traditional clothing is encouraged.
Cash prizes on the night.
Works of translation and pieces as Gaeilge are welcome.
Sign-up recommended in advance for performers.
Culture Night is brought to you by the Arts Council, in partnership with Wexford County Council.
